About
Children's hospital foundation
The Children’s Hospital Foundation helps sick and injured kids by funding life-saving medical research, investing in vital new equipment, and providing support and entertainment for children and their families. We are committed to making a difference in the fight against childhood illness and injury so every child can grow up as happy and healthy as possible.
CHALLENGE
The Children's Hospital Foundation sought to define what innovation meant to its unique organization, better understand what barriers to innovation exist inside its walls, and upskill 35 employees with a fundamental understanding of corporate innovation theory, design thinking and the lean startup.
SOLUTION
Collective Campus tailored a one day non-profit innovation crash course.
OUTCOME
Participants:
- Collectively defined what innovation meant to the Foundation
- Learned from a number of nonprofit innovation case studies
- Applied design thinking and lean startup principles to real-world projects
- Collectively defined what blockers exist, insofar as resources, processes and values are concerned
Collective Campus also delivered a report which captured the above, and provided a prioritised list of recommendations around how the organisation can best overcome blockers identified and fast-track its innovation journey.
